African Pride Adds Fordoun Hotel To Kzn Portfolio

African Pride Superior Deluxe Hotels, Lodges and Country Houses has expanded its KwaZulu-Natal portfolio with the latest addition of the luxury 5-star africanpridehotels.com - Fordoun. Renowned for its gracious stature, this boutique hotel has a history dating back to the 1800's. The original farm buildings have been carefully adapted into a contemporary property that hasn't forgotten the value of timeless tranquillity of bygone days. Located in the breathtaking Natal Midlands, an hour from the 'Berg, Fordoun combines the attractions of an upmarket boutique hotel and spa with a top class conference, wedding and event destination and a superior restaurant. The hotel caters for both resident guests of the hotel, as well as day visitors to the spa and its very popular restaurant.

Accommodation comprises of seventeen luxurious, individually appointed double suites, all with private verandas and plush bathrooms. The Spa has recently been awarded 'SA Best Destination Spa - 2006' by Professional Beauty magazine and boasts a team of expert personal trainers, masseurs, nutritionists and beauticians. It features internationally proven healthcare and beauty treatments, including the rasul (a Turkish steam and clay treatment room), a saline Floatation pool, heated swimming pool, a gymnasium, sauna, steam room, vichy shower, hydrotherapy room and a couples' treatment suite with hydrotherapy bath.

Set in the rolling Midlands grasslands, GUESTS can enjoy gentle walks around the grounds, visit the herb garden, ride mountain bikes or picnic on the estate. Fly-fishing is available on two still waters on Fordoun, or, in season, in the pristine waters of the nearby Bushman's River. Golf is available at the magnificent Bosch Hoek course, a few minutes away in Balgowan.

Fordoun's Skye Restaurant offers a diverse menu that combines wholesome dishes with more indulgent fare in an ever-changing showcase of the finest and freshest ingredients of the season. Fully licensed, the Skye Restaurant will offer a selection of wines specially chosen to combine the appeal of old favourites with unheralded new discoveries.

The conference centre caters for up to forty delegates, with quality equipment on hand and all the resources and facilities of the spa and restaurant nearby. The spacious, high-ceilinged main conference room lends itself to use for numerous other events and functions.
