Andros Country House Luxury Refurb
15 January 2007

The Andros Country House, part of the luxury African Pride superior deluxe hotels, lodges and country houses' portfolio, has reopened its doors following an extensive refurbishment. "We see this almost as a re-launch, considering that the hotel has been closed for renovations for nearly six months," explained Danny Bryer, Group Sales and Marketing Director for Protea Hotels.

This gracious Cape Dutch 5-star country house, situated in upper Claremont, Cape Town and a Sir Herbert Baker-designed homestead, has a history dating back to the early 1900's and a reputation for exceptional service. The renovations have been in keeping with the history and sumptuousness that GUESTS have come to expect from the Andros.

An additional five bedrooms have been added, increasing the accommodation to thirteen rooms. These additional rooms are situated in the lush gardens, which roll out over 5000m2 of lush verdure. In addition to this, all the existing manor house rooms have been changed and one of the garden suites completely redone.

A library and business centre has been added in the Manor house to cater for the business market. In addition to this, the Andros has added a small conference facility for up to 25 delegates. "The venue is suited to both the business, corporate delegate, as well as more leisure events like weddings or birthdays, especially as the setting is so impressive," added Bryer. Parking has also been added to ensure that the hotel can cater for the increased number of both day visitors and GUESTS.

The refurbishment also includes a luxurious spa, wellness centre and gym and, most significantly, the creation of 'Dine', a fine dining restaurant that seats 35 GUESTS elegantly. "GUESTS are invited to share in culinary pleasures prepared by the in-house chef, who designs three exquisite menus each day," concluded Bryer.
