January 2015: Bookings are now open for the fourth Arabella Challenge to be held at the end of April this year at Arabella Hotel & Spa. The success of previous challenges has shown that providing an event that caters for a range of fitness levels, in an environment which is challenging yet inspiring has created demand for participation from mountain bikers and runners. There is a one or two-day challenge for mountain bikers and two trail runs of varying lengths.

“Both the trail run and mountain bike events enjoy dedicated marked routes through the Kogelberg Biosphere and every year the athletes comment on the beautiful surroundings. South African leisure athletes are so lucky to be able to pursue their sports in our wonderful outdoors,” said Nicholas Barenblatt, Group Marketing Manager of African Pride Hotels, which is part of Marriott International.

Day 1 of the challenge kicks off on Saturday, 25 April. One and two-day mountain bikers will start their approximately 55km early in the morning. On Day 2, the bikers who opted for the two-day race will ride another 48km. Also on Day 2, trail runners have an option to run either 11km or 17km.

Novices and experienced athletes are all welcome.
