Audacia Manor Joins African Pride Luxury Brand
28 September 2006

The latest addition to the African Pride Superior Deluxe Hotels, Lodges and Country Houses portfolio is africanpridehotels.com - Audacia Manor. Built in 1928, this is a beautifully restored old family home nestled in a secluded cul-de-sac on the slopes of Durban's Berea in KwaZulu-Natal. From the silky wood panelling to generous verandas and pretty gardens, Audacia Manor, as with all African Pride properties, promises a warm welcome to all GUESTS. "This grand historical Manor house is the first KwaZulu-Natal addition to the African Pride portfolio, taking its place amongst a range of other impressive Country Houses," said Danny Bryer, Group Sales and Marketing Director for Protea Hotels.

Audacia Manor, originally the home of the Chapman family, is now a listed historical building. Each of 5 luxury suites has a unique character influenced by the English counties, promising elegance and sophistication. Views offer GUESTS a vantage point to gaze at a spectacular Durban sunset, or to watch as the lights of the city and the ships out at sea twinkle in the dark.

Promising a memorable experience, this historical manor house invites GUESTS to a private home-from-home for special occasions. Facilities include an 18m swimming pool, a verandah Cocktail Bar with magnificent city views, chauffeur service and gourmet meals. Pampering includes an in-house beautician and masseuse and, for a bit of relaxed activity, GUESTS can enjoy a genteel game of croquet and boules on the front lawn.

This country house has gained a reputation for organizing milestone celebrations such as 21st birthdays, 60th birthdays, wedding anniversaries, family reunions, private dinners, engagements and weddings, providing the perfect setting and elegant surroundings, accompanied by gourmet cuisine, to compliment any special occasion.

GUESTS' first view of the estate is of the elegant facade, shuttered windows thrown open to embrace the warm African sun. This is definitely one of the original Grand Dames of Durban.
