African Pride Hacklewood Hill Country House

One of the few remaining Victorian Manor Houses in Port Elizabeth, African Pride Hacklewood Hill Country House, built in 1898, is an elegant and stately residence set in the peaceful surroundings of the affluent suburb of Walmer. Hacklewood is situated a mere 5 minutes drive from the airport and close to popular beaches, shopping centres and malaria-free game reserves.

Directions from Port Elizabeth airport

1. When exiting the Airport, turn LEFT into Alistair Miller Drive
2. At the traffic lights turn LEFT into Heugh Road until the next set of traffic lights
3. Turn RIGHT into 6th Avenue (6th Avenue Shopping Centre in on your right)
4. At the next traffic lights, turn LEFT into Main Road. Travel down Main Road until the traffic light intersection at 10th Avenue.
5. Turn LEFT into 10th Avenue (your landmark is a Shell Garage directly ahead)
6. Take the first RIGHT into Prospect Road - Hacklewood Hill Country House is situated on the LEFT hand side of the road at no. 152. Ring the buzzer at the front gate to be welcomed to African Pride Hacklewood Hill Country House

Directions from the Garden Route (N2/Cape Town)

1. Follow the N2 to Port Elizabeth. (At Tsitsikamma you will need change for the toll road)
2. Once you see the signs for Port Elizabeth look for the City/William Moffat Expressway off-ramp
3. Go up the ramp in the right hand lane and turn RIGHT at the top (you will then cross over the bridge)
4. Keep in the centre lane and go straight over the traffic lights after the bridge
5. At the major junction - go straight over Cape Road - you are now on the William Moffat Expressway
6. When the road narrows and you see the signs on your left for Walmer Park Shopping Centre - turn left at these traffic lights onto Main Road
7. Follow the road straight along until you reach 10th Avenue. (Your landmark is a green BP petrol station on the right hand side of 10th Avenue)
8. Turn right into 10th Avenue - you will see Damelin College on your right hand side
9. Take the first turning on the right into Prospect Road - we are the 3rd driveway along on your left - you will see the Hacklewood Hill sign and the remote-controlled gate - 152 Prospect Road

From the Wild Coast (N2/Durban)

1. As you are travelling into Port Elizabeth on the N2 Highway you will see the overhead signs for Summerstrand/City/Walmer
2. Stay in the Walmer lane
3. At the end of the Highway (there will be overhead boards advising the above & the harbour will be on your left) at the first set of traffic lights turn right into Walmer Boulevard/M9
4. There will be a fire station on your left
5. Continue until you reach 6th Avenue
6. At the traffic lights (6th Avenue/Heugh Road intersection) turn right into 6th Avenue and continue until you reach the next set of traffic lights
7. Turn Left into Main road and continue until you reach 10th Avenue. (BP Garage on the opposite left Corner)
8. Turn left into 10th Avenue and the first road to your right is Prospect Road - we are situated at no. 152 Prospect Road
