African Pride Mount Grace Country House & Spa Expanding with Kids' Club & Mountain Biking Activity Centre While it Undergoes Routine Roof Maintenance

August 2014: African Pride Mount Grace Country House & Spa is taking advantage of the dry Highveld winter to replace its thatched roofing across the resort, as well as introduce two exciting new elements – a Kids’ Club and a Mountain Bike Activity Centre.

Workers move on site this week to start hoarding off the construction sites for the Kids’ Club and the Mountain Bike Activity Centre, which will be completed towards the end of November.

The project has been in the planning phase for some time, says Danny Bryer, Director of Sales, Marketing & Revenue for African Pride Hotels, and the decision has been taken to do the phased work sooner rather than later to finish before the start of the high tourist season and the summer rain.

The hotel already plays host to a number of private and commercial mountain bike events; therefore the new activity centre with its permanently marked mountain bike and trail running trails through the surrounding farms allows us to expand our offering to include additional events within the mountain bike and trail running calendar. The Kids Club will be instrumental in positioning the hotel as a holistic family friendly product offering especially over school holidays and long weekend breaks.

The roofing work will affect hotel rooms, the spa and conference venues with thatched roofs.
“The work is being phased across the various room types to allow for minimal impact on GUESTS and on the tranquil experience of staying at this luxurious Magaliesberg hotel,” says Bryer.
The first phase takes place from 7 August and with the last phase being completed by early December.
“Work on the main Spa roof will take place from August 18 to 12 September, and during that time spa services such as facials, manicures, pedicures and massages will still be offered from the Bush Spa and selected villas in the immediate vicinity. The only spa operations that will be entirely closed for the entire period are the outdoor hydrotherapy facilities.”

Andrew Rogers, CEO of the Hospitality Property Fund, which owns the deluxe hotel, says: “we’ve seen how Mountain Biking has now become the new “corporate golf”, competing with the corporate golf days and which appeals to all age groups and experience levels. The hotel is perfectly located for both mountain bike and trail running enthusiasts alike, who wish to test themselves against the different trail levels, as well as enjoying the unique location and attractions in the area. The new kids club will become a sought after facility which is in keeping with the positioning of the resort as a world class family destination and was the one area that the hotel lacked in facilities, was a dedicated children’s centre. The new facility will cater for all age groups of children from toddlers to teens and will ensure that parents will be able to relax in the atmosphere of hotel and spa whilst their children are being cared for by specialist child minders.” All work should be completed by early December 2014.
