Renowned 5-star hotel joins African Pride Portfolio

07 February 2008: The African Pride Collection of superior deluxe 5-star hotels, safari lodges and country houses has increased its Gauteng portfolio by adding The Mount Grace Country House & Spa, located in the Magaliesburg Mountains.

According to Danny Bryer, Group Sales and Marketing Director for Protea Hotels, this classic country house hotel offers the ultimate in South African rural living and will become another major feature in their exclusive portfolio. "The Mount Grace Country House & Spa is a haven of natural elegance with luxury accommodation, excellent service and superior facilities.

"The property is a welcome addition to the African Pride Collection and strategically increases our footprint in the region by joining our other Gauteng destinations, The Melrose Arch Hotel and Fairlawns Boutique Hotel & Spa."

The Mount Grace Country House & Spa - approximately an hour's drive from Johannesburg - comprises 81 air-conditioned GUEST rooms and suites arranged into secluded villages, each soft country comfort themed. GUESTS can choose from three restaurants or enjoy the outdoor Hydrotherapy Spa Garden, which consists of a heated Jacuzzi pool, an invigorating waterfall and the Elixir Liquid Sound Flotation Pool.

The Mount Grace also caters for the conferencing needs of the modern business traveller. Facilities include nine venues - catering for between eight and 200 delegates - with access to high-grade audio-visual systems.

According to Bryer, though the hotel will become part of the portfolio, the management principles and the hotels' ambiance will remain unchanged.

"The Mount Grace will benefit from our national reservation and distribution structures, as well as access to the African Pride marketing team," concludes Bryer.
