Legends Lodge

• Legends is named in honour of those whose vision and foresight ensured that one of the world’s greatest natural treasures exists today.
  
  The lodge has an eclectic design mix of Afro colonial and classic gentleman’s club, with mounted antelope horns, Persian rugs and fine African antiquities.
• The thatched cathedral-like entrance leads through to the colonial comfort of the lounge, which opens onto the massive wooden deck overlooking the Sabie River.
• Built around an enormous Jackalberry tree which is reputed to be over 200 years old, the deck affords magnificent views of the Sabie River, and regular sightings of game, including members of the Big Five.
• Facilities at Legends include a library stocked with an array of African literature, a wine cellar stocked with premier South African and international wines, a boma, bar and wellness centre. There is also a large eternity swimming pool situated next to the wooden deck allowing unobstructed views of the Sabie River.
• Child Policy:
• • Bookings with children limited to a maximum of two suites at any one time.
  • No children aged 6 years and younger are accepted at Tinga Legends.
• • Children 7 - 12 years of age are accepted on safari vehicles at the discretion of lodge management.
  • Children 7 - 12 years of age are accommodated at 50% of the adult single rate, if sharing a suite with their parents.
  • No children aged 12 and younger will be accepted during peak periods.
  • Children 13 - 16 years of age pay full adult single rate.
  • Children 13 - 16 years of age are not permitted to share with adults during peak periods. 

Narina Lodge

Although similar to Legends, Narina has a distinctly more African feel. The main deck is on stilts overlooking the Sabie River, and the suites are connected by an elevated wooden walkway. The lodge comprises nine suites.

Location

Situated in the world-renowned Kruger National Park, Tinga Private Game Lodge offers unparalleled luxury at its secluded Legends and Narina lodges. Each is tucked away on magnificent private land on the Sabie River and, with 35km of prime river frontage, the only visitors our GUESTS receive while staying at either of our lodges are a vast array of wildlife and bird species.

While Tinga offers exclusive accommodation in the heart of the African bush, the lodges are easily accessible by road via the Paul Kruger Gate or by air to Skukuza. Tinga Private Game Lodge vehicles also have the right to traverse the entire Kruger National Park thereby allowing unlimited game viewing in the world's most famous national park.

Interesting facts about the Sabie River

1. The Sabie River has the richest biodiversity of any South African River
2. The Sabie River area has the highest density of leopards in Africa. This is due to the huge concentrations of impala in the area (95/sq.km)
3. According to resident ecologists, the Tinga concession has one of the highest densities of predators in Africa

 Travelling to Tinga

By air
Scheduled flights are available to the Kruger Mpumalanga International Airport (located outside Nelspruit).

There are three airlines that service the KMI Airport, with direct flights available from Durban, Johannesburg and Cape Town. These are

3. Nationwide Airlines

Flights Flights are available direct from Johannesburg International Airport to Skukuza Airport. The estimated time of this transfer is 1 hour and 30 minutes and from KMIA to Skukuza is 15 minutes. Flights operate on a daily basis and can be booked through Tinga Private Game Lodge.

A "Big Five" Bonanza

Tinga's position on the banks of the Sabie River in the Kruger National Park means that the lodge attracts a host of game and birdlife exclusively for your viewing pleasure. In addition, Tinga Private Game Lodge vehicles enjoy full access to the entire Kruger National Park, so GUESTS are assured of a wildlife experience of a lifetime - including an encounter with the "Big Five" that you will never forget.

Fully qualified rangers are on hand to lead you on the safari of your dreams as you track the wildlife on foot or in an open safari vehicle.

Game species that frequent the area around Tinga Private Game Lodge include:

Lion, Leopard, Elephant, Buffalo, Black and White Rhino, Hippo, Crocodile, Wildebeest, Cheetah, Zebra, Waterbuck, Kudu and many other mammal, reptiles and bird species.

Safari outings

Set on the banks of the breathtaking Sabie River in the Kruger National Park, Tinga offers the perfect setting for exclusive conferencing combined with that much-deserved leisure break for delegates.

The two executive boardrooms seat 6 and 16 delegates respectively in luxurious chairs and have ISDN lines, data projectors, televisions, screens, whiteboards and flip charts. Easily accessible by road or air, Tinga combines five-star luxury accommodation with ultra-modern meeting facilities.

Executive Boardrooms

These are located at Legends, 50m from the main lodge facilities. Both our executive boardrooms are furnished with upmarket equipment and have the facility available to plug laptops in for conferencing.

Standard tea and coffee breaks will be served in keeping with the bush environment. The lodge can also offer themed tea and coffee breaks upon request.
